Security Console

The Gorgotron model 80 security console is the heart of each HQ's security system - with it, you can control drones, traps, cameras and more.

The way corp security works is the following - any non-corpmate entering or attacking/picking within the HQ will receive corpsec Stars. This will prompt the console to send drones after them.

This is limited to tiles that are covered by security cameras.

Installation

A security system is quick to set up - you'll need a security console, a security wand, enough security cams to cover every tile, as well as addons like traps, ARC drones or monitors.

Securite Entiere in Weezer and Securite Entiere in Corpclave sell everything you'll need.

First, you place the console and ask a holder of your corporation to bolt and secure it.

Choosing where to place the console is tricky. On one hand, drones respawn on it and will open any doors on the way to their old area. On the other hand, placing it out in the open allows people to hack it.

To link addons to your console, you first have to point your wand to the security console. You'll see something like this:

Sobek points his security wand at the security console.
The security wand lights up with the logo CORP.
[console] Control wand added.

Now, to link objects to the console, point your activated wand at them.

Make sure an activated wand never gets in the wrong hands, or someone will break into your HQ and casually disable all drones and cameras with it.

Commands

The console has a bunch of commands:

Command Effect
secure security console This prevents non-corpmates from typing on the console.
program <something> on security console You can program ARC drones to increase their skills. More on that later.
hack security console Players are able to hack the console and gain control of it. The number one reason not to link any doors to a sec console.

Commands you have to type:

Command Effect
help Lists all commands.
list <object name> This lists any objects connected to the console, like doors and traps, as well as their status.
switch <monitor> to <cam> Switches a security monitor to a connected security camera.
open/close/lock/unlock <door> Does exactly what it says. Often used to open the closets that former corpmates installed.
radio/radioset This broadcasts when someone receives Stars on your corpsec and when the console sends agents after them.
lockdown Locks all doors, sets all traps to active and gives security cameras red flashing lights. Broadcasts a message on corpnet that will spook absolutely everyone.
forgive <name> Erases all Stars someone has on your corpsec.
profile <agent> Lists detailed stats on the selected ARC drone.
deploy <agent> to <camera> Moves an ARC drone to a selected camera.
overview Lists all living things that your cameras can currently see, as well as their locations.
trapmode [active/passive] Active: traps will fire when a non-corpmate enters the square. Passive: they will only fire when you trigger them manually.
push Pushes stats improved with the program command to all connected drones.
trigger <trap num> Manually fires a trap.

ARC drones

These craftable drones will go after any offenders. You can equip them with a variety of weapons and armor packs.

While they're not as tough as players, they're good for stalling people for a while.

When destroyed, they'll respawn on the sec console after a bit and path back to their original tile. This can be dangerous, as they open any door on the way back.

Their base stats look like this:

      brawn [10.00 / ] cool [12.00 / ] reflexes [12.00 / ]
     brains [ 5.00 / ] senses [10.00 / ] endurance [ 6.00 / ]

Skill Raw + + Total
rifles 10.00 [20]
dodge 5.00 [14]
pistols 10.00 [20]

Bodypart Armor Beat Slash Stab Bullt Burn Elec Acid
hull 6-10 10-16 10-16 6-10 4-8 4-8 4-8
chassis 6-10 10-16 10-16 6-10 4-8 4-8 4-8
Total dodge penalty from armor: 0.0

Setup

After activating and connecting them, deploy them to a room of your choice.

Now, you can open them by typing open ARC-14 SecDrone with wand to install armor, weapons and ammo of your choice.

Drones will wield the first weapon installed into them.

Equipment

Drones can use rifles, pistols, blades, clubs, spears, whips and science weapons - keep in mind that if you equip them with plinkers, they'll need ammo too.

If a drone runs out of ammo, it'll switch to a built-in .22 revolver.

Armor kits are stackable, lower dodge by 0.5 and add the following soaks per pack:

Name Soak type Soak amount
Impact Beat/Bullt 1-2
Energy Burn/Elec/Acid 1-2
Blade Slash/Stab 1-2
EMP EMP Needs testing

Once a pack is installed, you won't be able to remove it again.

Programming

The console lets you program drones to increase their stats:

[ Brains, dodge, rifles, pistols, blades, clubs, spears, whips, and science can be programmed on this console. ]

This requires a DNI implant, brains and sufficient raws in the skills you want to raise. On success, the improvement gets pushed to all active drones.

If you link a fresh drone to your console, it's a good idea to manually push the improvements.

Cameras and monitors

Security cameras are needed to maneuver ARC drones and can be used to keep an eye on your HQ.

You can switch monitors to security cameras and will see everything in that tile, similar to tuning a TV to FITE.

You'll only see what's going on when you watch a monitor (stickycams don't work).

Traps

Securite Entiere in Weezer sells a variety of traps.

When set to active, they'll fire on any intruder entering the tile. While they can be easily dodged, they're not a terrible idea if you have extra money to burn.

By default, traps are set to active. You can disable them with the sec console or manually trigger them.
