OH NO I HAVE THIS CORP AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO SELL THINGS

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FAILURES

So you're a BIG, WEALTHY BUSINESSMAN and want to easily sell items in your own store? Good for you! Head on down to the Slagtown Galleria, located east of the Bradbury Hotel.

To rent a store in the Galleria, you must be in charge of your very own corporation. Renting a store requires a down payment of $50,000 and a monthly payment of $100 to keep the store rented out. Both the $50,000 and $100 must be in your corporate account, else you cannot rent the store. If you miss rent 10 times, your store will be vacated and everything inside will be transferred to Sargo's Discount Warehouse, so be careful and keep your corporate account full!

Stores can be rented in the Mall Office, which is a room DOWN from the second room in. On your minimap, this is the dark purple /].

Money earned from your store is transferred into your corporate account, so every purchase gives you at least one month of rent.

Getting your WONDERFUL corp store working!!

Before being able to sell things from your store, you need a shopkeeper. A shopkeeper for a corp store takes the form of a hired Gangland NPC. To hire one, you need to use the command

hire <something>

on the NPC while under a camera that has been hacked by your corporation. The NPC will decide whether or not to join you based on a persuade roll, which also determines how much you are required to pay him. Once you've taken in a hireling, bring him to your store and use the following command:

assign <something> to sales case -- This command will assign your hireling as the store's shopkeeper. You cannot outfit them with armor, weapons, or skills while they are acting as the shopkeeper - do so beforehand!

If you ever feel the need to get a new shopkeeper, perhaps because you detest your current one's name or the way he is treated by your customers, you can fire him using this command:

fire <something> from sales case -- This command will fire your hireling from the store and put him/her back into the soldiering business.

Note that it is possible to kill your shopkeeper. If this happens, you will have to hire another.

FANTASTIC and AMAZING things you can do in your corp store!!

To keep your store running, you need to sell things! Duh! Here are some helpful commands:

stock <something> in/inside/into sales case -- This command will put an item in your sales case and automatically set it to a MOO-determined value (or the value you have given to that item type)

remove <something> from case -- This command removes a stocked item from your sales case.

Though any employee of any rank can remove items from their corporation's store, the corp shoplog command (made available when a store is rented) can show who removed which item. This command also tells you purchase data (who purchased which item and for how much), who stocks the case with which item, as well as who changes the price of which item, and to what.

-<shopkeeper> price <something> at <price> -- This isn't exactly a command; what you are doing is telling your shopkeeper to price a certain item, or type of item, at a certain price. Any item of that type will be set to that price when stocked, even if none are in stock at the time.

You 'own' the store like you 'own' an apartment, and you as the owner can bolt homecams, fireplaces, couches, etc inside if you want.

Wallpaper can be installed in a corp store so as to give it your very own description - something that would set it apart from all the others. Sometimes the quality of a room description can change a consumer's mind.

Keeping this store running and on top!!

The PLAYER ECONOMY is a very competitive market. Players are always looking for the best prices, so be sure to compare with other stores as often as you can and adjust prices accordingly. Be sure to stock items other stores don't carry, and price them reasonably. Nobody is going to buy a dinosaur toy for $999,999!

In the first room of the Galleria building, there is a directory which lists items carried by stores and their prices. To find which store carries which item, and for whatever price, use the command:

find <something> in directory

This helpful tool will make it much easier to one-up the competition!
