search/scavenge

Search the location you're in for hidden items. Chance of success is based on your scavenge skill.

Some locations may not have items lying around to scavenge, but most outdoor and many indoor places do.

Searching an area multiple times: If you have searched in an area recently, you will not find any more items in that location right away. You will get a message telling you that you've already searched there recently and that you don't think you're going to find anything else.

There are only so many items a location may have, so you may not find anything if others have also searched the same area recently. After a bit, clutter will find its way back into those area, and you'll be able to search there again.

search <corpsename>

This command lets you see what items a corpse is holding.

Note: This skill also allows you to find secret passages in the world! If you see something strange on the map you can't normally get to, or if there's some strange impassible area in a quest, or even if you just have a hunch, try searching the area.
