Commands
From HellWiki
In the commands below, words set off by angle brackets (< and >) are required arguments to the command. If words appear between square brackets ([ and ]) then the argument specified is optional.
Shorter versions of most of these commands will work as shortcuts, such as l instead of look or sc instead of score.

Command Syntax | Summary |
---|---|
Lmap | Pulls up a scan of surrounding tiles, including their names, paths and any corpmates on them. The single most useful command for navigation. |
Map | Shows a graphical map of surrounding tiles. This includes the Gangland camera status. |
Omap | When boating, shows a large map of surrounding ocean tiles (for example other boats, ports, islands, swimming players). |
Smomap | Smaller version of Omap. |
Combat
Command Syntax | Summary |
---|---|
Attack <victim> | Apply the hurtins. "at" and "k" also work. |
Dodge | Increase your Dodge for a short amount of time. |
Feint | Attempts to stun your victim based on a Brains check. Can be resisted by frenzying as well as stun resistance from Brainslug and Hooligan. |
Fight <style> | Changes your current fighting style. Type "help fightstyle" ingame for more details. |
Grab <victim> | Attempts a grab, success based on your Wrestle versus their Dodge. This will restrain them and allows you to attack with a one-handed weapon, shove, rape or strip armor from them. Victim will try to break free; with your Brawn versus their Brawn/Reflexes. |
Hunt <target> | For hunting a creature or a type of creature. You will automatically attack any creature whose name matches the string entered as <target>. For example, hunt dog will cause you to attack any smelly dog, crouching dog, Care Dog, Dogbert, etc. on sight. If there are more than one, you will only attack the first matching mob in a room. |
Insult <target> | Insults a target (Persuade/Cool check?), on success causing stress and making the victim cry. |
Pow | Winds up for a powerattack, which will do high damage and stun any target, unless it is an NPC with special stun immunity. Takes a while to hit, is less accurate than a regular attack and gives -6 Dodge while pow'ing. |
Ready <weapon> (and <weapon>) | Makes you automatically wield your weapon/s at the start of combat. |
Strip <armor> from <victim> | Strips armor from a target, placing it in their inventory. Based on Wrestle. |
Statuses
Command Syntax | Summary |

@buffs | Shows all current stat buffs/debuffs. This doesn't include buffs/debuffs to single skills. |
@owned | Shows your currently owned/rented apartments, blueprints, boats and planes as well as their rent. |
Examine <target> | Lists commands you can use to interact with the object in question |
Gear | Shows you vital stats about your weapons and armor soaks. |
Inventory | Lists what you've got. |
Journal | A view your unique XP awards. |
Look [target] | For looking at items, creatures and locations. |
Score | For checking your character sheet. Typing ss will show you an abridged version. |
Status | For checking your status. |
Tac | Lists creatures in the room and their health/status. |
Worn | Shows you detailed armor info - your layers, their thickness, condition and dodge penalty. |

Allow | Allow/disallow actions on you from other players |
Analyze <player> | Starts psychoanalyzing a player, curing mental illnesses based on your Medic skill and the severity of their mental. Higher chance of success if your patient reclines. |
Appraise <something> | Evaluate the value and power of items and creatures |
Cwho | Shows the area your corpmates are currently in. You can also cwho <corp name> to get the same for other corporations, minus their location. |
Diagnose [someone] | checking what's wrong with yourself or someone else |
Drop <something> | Drop something from your inventory onto the floor. If it's something you don't want anymore and don't intend to ever use or sell, use Junk <something> instead. |
Friend [someone] | When used with no arguments this will tell you who you have added as friends. When you specify a person as an argument you add that person to your friends list. |
Follow <someone> | For following someone. To stop following that person you can use follow me or stop following. |
Get <something> [from <something>] | For picking something up or getting something from a container. You can specify entire classes of items, as well. For example: Get all Artifacts from duffel bag will get any item classified as an Artifact from the duffel bag. If you have more than one identical container, use a qualifier. If you have 2 duffel bags and want to get all the Chemicals from the second duffel bag, use Get all Chemicals from 2nd duffel bag |
Go <direction> | For moving around the world. |
Hold <item or weapon> | Ready an item or weapon by putting it into your hand(s). Same as Wield <item or weapon>. You can hold two one-handed items, and they will cycle between your primary and secondary hands. To wield two identical items, use a qualifier. For example, to wield 2 knuckle busters, you would need to type, in order, Wield knuckle buster and then Wield 2nd knuckle buster |
Junk <something> | Use this command to get rid of something from your inventory forever. |
p-invite <someone> | Invite someone to join your Party |
p-join | Join a party once you have been invited |
p-list | Show who is in your party |
p-quit | Leave your party. |
Put | The exact opposite of Get. For putting something into a container. You can specify entire classes of items, as well. For example: Put all Artifacts in duffel bag will put any item classified as an Artifact from your inventory into the duffel bag. If you have more than one identical container, use a qualifier. If you have 2 duffel bags and want to put all the Chemicals into the second duffel bag, use Put all Chemicals into 2nd duffel bag |
Recline (on <thing>) | Makes you recline. This has two side effects: bleeding stops faster and you are easier to psychoanalyze. |
Remove <item>/<all>/<all item>/<all from bodypart> | Take off all of your clothes or just one item. |
Search [corpse] | When used with no arguments this command searches for random items of value in your area. When you search a corpse it will list any items that are on that corpse. |
Sit (on <thing>) | Makes you sit down. Most furniture will only destress you when sitting. |
Stop [action] | For stopping whatever you're doing or a particular type of action. |
Stow <item or weapon> | Takes an item or weapon out of your hands. "Unwield" works too. |
Wear < all or item > | Put on all of your clothes or just one item. |
