The State of Desert, in real life, was a provisional state of the United States of America, proposed in 1849 by Latter-Day Saints settlers in salt lake city. The state existed for little over two years, and was never officially recognized by the American government. The name derives from the word honey bee in the Book of Mormon

Lore

Deseret is a city-state formed by a group of militant Mormon settlers, in the year 2072. Deseret consists of mostly of the former states of Utah, southern Idaho, northern Arizona, and Nevada.

Besides a group of extremely angry and territorial Mormons held up deep in the Radome, the city-state of Deseret has no impact on gameplay.
