What is the policy on pvp?
Most of the world is now open to player versus player combat. Players can attack each other at any time, with the following exceptions:
- Members of carebear corps are protected from pvp.
- Secure areas - those protected by FCPD cams and certain other areas - show up as green, and pvp is not usually allowed in these areas. However, many exceptions to this rule exist.
When can I attack players or be attacked in the green areas?
- If a player challenges you, you can attack them or challenge them back.
- If a player has deleted their clone and gone hardcore, they can attack you at any time! The first time they do this, they become an outlaw. Outlaws are marked on the who list with a red +, and can be identified with appraise.
- If a player hacks your corp's gangland cams, they auto-challenge your entire corp, and you can attack them in revenge at any time.
- If a player picks a lock or breaks down a door belonging to someone inactive, the robber challenges the inactive player's entire corp as well. That means they can be attacked at any time by the challenged corp.
- Robbing a player's corpse and butchering a player's corpse issues a challenge.
- Any player non-abom wearing a fursuit will be open to attack anywhere, even in greenzones. Additionally, a player with cat ears will act much the same.
What are the rules about robbery?
You cannot be robbed by another player as long as you are not banned, have been online in the past 60 days and have not challenged that player or the player's corporation.
If you have challenged a player or the player's corp, you can be robbed for the duration of the challenge. Any lock that you are allowed to open can also be picked by those you have challenged. That means that the HQ of the corp you belong to can be robbed if you challenge a player or a corp. To clarify, anyone that challenges you is a potential robbery target for you and anyone you challenge can rob you!
When can I rob planes?
If you park your plane on a helipad owned by another player, that player is allowed to pick the lock of your plane irrespective of the other rules and restrictions. Park your plane on another player's helipad and you can be robbed. Other than that the normal rules about robbery apply.
Is looting the bodies of dead players considered robbery?
If you rob the dead body of a player or butcher the dead body of a player, you issue a challenge. However, you aren't breaking the rules of the game by doing this.
Is taking parts from crashed planes robbery?
No, after a rather long while a crashed plane is considered abandoned and anyone can salvage parts from it. Before this time, you are not able to salvage parts from it and will get a message that it is not yet abandoned.
Is it possible to rob corporation HQs?
Yes, but only if someone in that corp has challenged you or your corp. Although legal in these circumstances, robbing another corp's HQ is a very risky stunt to attempt.
Is destroying motorcycles considered robbery or pvp?
No, you are allowed to destroy other people's bikes outright. Picking and stealing them is also allowed, as well as lifting them if they've been left unlocked. The FCPD is not so pleased with people doing these things, however, but they are acceptable by the rules of the game.
